Can we aim for anything better? Could we have a greater goal? Is there
any objective more rewarding?

The Scriptures teach us NO!

“Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, vanity of vanities! All is
vanity.” Ecclesiastes 1:2

He is actually saying, “Empty, Emptiness; Nothing, Nothingness.” Is
the life of those whose life is void of “LABOR FOR THE MASTER.”

Unfortunately he should know for he spent his life on everything but
God. He compassed land and sea in search of the true aim, goal, and
objective for life and he ended up with “Emptiness, Nothingness,
Vanities.”

Read his message in the book of Ecclesiastes and in the end heed his
conclusion. “Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole
duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every
secret thing, whether good or evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

Jesus, asked the following questions, “What will it profit a man if he
gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give
in exchange for his soul?” Matthew 16:26

The answer, A life of “Vanity.” Having nothing to hope for and leaving
this life entirely empty.

On the other hand when we make it our aim, goal and objective to do
God’s will we will experience the full and abundant life now and
forever. John 10:9-10, 11:25-26, 14:1-3; 15:1-11; 1 John 5:13

Paul proclaims the true life of purpose. Philippians 3:12-15

“I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me His
own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one
thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what
lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward
call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Let our aim, goal and objective be to “LABOR FOR THE MASTER.” And in
the end when the roll is called up yonder we will be there.
