PROMOTE BIBLE SCHOOL
“EDUCATION IS THE BASIS OF LAW AND ORDER.”
Bible Institutes and Preaching schools grew up during a period when
the philosophy of naturalism was very prevalent in the world’s
education. As it was in the days of Paul (Acts 17:16-31) many
educators accepted assumptions, idolatry, philosophies, religions,
speculations, and superstitions instead of God’s truth. The objects
and objectives behind their thinking and worship were many. They even
had, “Inscriptions, ‘To the unknown god.” People practiced belief
systems that were products of pantheism and polytheism. They abandoned
the Scriptures and the outcome was chaos and confusion.
Bible schools were a protest to the in roads of secularism in
education. They became a base for educating believers and teachers in
God’s word. Teachers taught about the many facts revealed from the
word of God. Teachers taught about the family from the word of God.
Teachers taught about nature from the word of God. Teachers taught
about origin from the word of God. Teachers taught about God’s plan
for mankind from the word of God. Teachers taught about the remedy for
sin from the word of God. Teachers did not rest their convictions and
conclusions on fables, fairytales, fatalism, feelings, or fiction.
Bible teachers taught about faith and much, much more. They taught
about life and death and things that really matter. They taught about
a moral compass that could be relied upon and trusted. They taught
about values and virtues that could be very rewarding. They taught
about things that were worthwhile and worthy for their text book was
the word of God.
ISN’T IT TIME FOR A REVIVAL OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION?
In 1940, 60 to 70 percent of Great Brittan’s population confessed a
Christian faith. Today, only 3 percent acknowledge that they believe
in Christ. What about our own nation? Fifty years ago regular Bible
school attendance was an essential component throughout our
communities. Look at them today. The Bible, Christian Fellowship,
Prayer and Worship have diminished and sin has increased on all
fronts. Isn’t it time for us to plea for Scriptural education, to
plea, “GIVE ME THE BIBLE!”
